Both do the same job but as the name suggests, slider dimmers come with a slider instead of a big knob that help in controlling the intensity of the light. This type of switch is perfect for a bedroom where we like to change the intensity of lights at our convenience.

7. Dimmer Switches: If you don’t want the knob or the slider simply because they are not pleasant on your eyes then you may want to consider dimmer switches that have a small slider that is next to the toggle and is almost invisible to the eye.

9. Occupancy/Motion-sensitive switch: This particular type of switch doesn’t need a toggle. It has a sensor that detects the motion in a room and turns on the light for a set period of time.

These switches have a built-in motion detector and can save you from looking around for a switch panel in the dark.

An occupancy switch also helps in cutting down the electricity bill.
